I am TERRIBLE at budgeting. Terrible with money in general really. It has been an ongoing joke with my family since I was a teenager. When it came to bills, my motto was “out of sight, out of mind.” Savings account? What was that?! Of course, this didn’t mean I didn’t like to SPEND money. Garage Sale, Yard Sale, Rummage Sale, Moving Sale—call it what you want—it is that time of year again.

I consider myself a bit of a yard sale connoisseur, I love rummaging through people’s old treasures. Even when I don’t plan on buying anything, I enjoy sifting through the remnants of history and nostalgia. That, and sometimes I find some really cool stuff.  

 Having my own garage sale has proven to be almost as much fun—but a lot more work! That said, I have picked up a few tips to help anyone have their best garage sale yet!

I’m trying out this blogging thing. For as long as I can remember I have been passionate about writing, good conversation, making connections, and being creative.

I am passionate about many things.

When I was in college, I tried to find a way to fit them all into a single dream job. Teaching seemed to be the thing I was called to do. I loved every minute of lesson planing, I loved the challenge of trying to find new and better ways of presenting the content, I loved building relationships and rapport with my students, I didn’t love grading . . . but who does?
